A Good September

September has been a great month. Charlie continues to grow into what I call my Chubby Monkey. The new job at Rhodes is going smoothly, and I no longer have to worry about whether I'll be leaving at 5:00 or 10:00!

I've decided to post some Charlie pics as somewhat of an editorial of September...

We tried carrots for the first time. Yum!

bebePOD

Co-workers gave this to us as a baby shower gift. I didn't really know what to expect of the little contraption, but Charlie really does love it. The concept of the bebePOD (made by Prince Lionheart - another brand is the Bumbo) is to allow baby to sit up before he can actually sit up on his own. Once he can hold up his head on his own, the seat does the rest of the work. The first time I put Charlie in it, he was a bit apprehensive and he became a Leaning Tower of Piza in the seat (see picture below), but after a few attempts, and now that his neck muscles have strengthened, he absolutely adores it! I recommend this as a baby shower gift to anyone. It's lightweight and can be toted to any room in the house when you need a hands-free moment. And, it makes him feel like a big boy because he can "sit up" on his own!

Early Photos

Since I'm new at this blogging, my posts are a wee bit out of sequence. I've got some catching up to do! I also have him in my arms at the moment, so there my be some type-os along the way due to one-handed typing.

Snug in the NICU (notice the leg hanging out...
he still does that!)

Yummm, cereal!

Charlie had his first cereal on Tuesday. Boy, did he love it! He smiled and laughed the whole time! He kept looking at Neal and I with eyes that said, "Uh, why haven't you been giving me this the whole time?" When he completed the full-on cereal nosh, he looked completely satisfied. I kept expecting him to slide his hand in his pants Al Bundy-style! I should have taken my friend Amanda's advice about the plastic bib, though, because it was definitely a MESSY experience!

Step one - Put baby in high chair.

Step 2 - Entice baby with delicious cereal concoction.

Step 3 - Hope baby opens mouth and insert spoon.

Step 4 - Praise the happy baby!

Back at Work

I went back to work on Monday and am horribly saddened and frustrated by it. I had about 15 minutes to "ease" back into things and wham! It's like I never left! Figures. Here are some cute photos of Charlie.

At the Beach

These are pictures of Charlie's first visit to the beach in Gulf Shores, AL. He loved snoozing on the beach and feeling the breeze on his face. The weather was nice - overcast and not too hot - so he was able to enjoy the outdoors a little. Of course, even with the clouds, I smeared him completely in sunscreen!
